The Highway
290 Anzac Hwy, Plympton SA 5038
Located 10 minutes south of Adelaide, The Highway is well know for their live music, cocktail lounge and pub, but the big question on everyone’s mind… does the schnitty live up to the Highway’s standards? Walking in, The Highway’s restaurant is a more formal setting which we were quite dressed down for. Nevertheless, we will greeted with humility and with one thing on our mind, a Schnitty.
From Comparison to The Warradale, the price of a schnitznel at The Highway costs a total of $21, $5 cheaper. The schnitty is served with fresh garden salad, a heaping of chips and a good size schnitty that fills up half the plate. Drink selections are quite different as The Highway serves high quality wine with no scotch on sight.
The Schnitty itself is defiantly worth the money. You can easily cut through it with ease, with the upper hand that the schnitty had an more appetizing taste with the combination of chips that were on plentiful measure. The gravy was of right amount, no excess, but enough coats the schnitty with ease. The chips were underneath the schnitty, but doesn’t matter from out point of view as the whole schnitty and chips were scrumptious.
The Highway upper hand comes down to their service, scoring a solid 10 from us. No other place has scored an 8 or above. This is due to the waiters’ professionalism, but also laidd-back attitude who was happy to have a chat with us about his home-life. Something we like to see where they can also be human.
Overall, if you enjoy a delicious schnitty with a more formal setting then the Highway is just for you!
